Turbine Flow Meter
Turbine meters measure flow by counting rotor revolutions: the fluid spins a bladed rotor, and pulse frequency is
proportional to velocity. On clean, low-viscosity liquids, accuracy can reach ±0.5% or better, with fast response for batching and control.
Typical applications include:
diesel, gasoline and solvent measurement, clean water and demineralized water, hydraulic oil and lubricant fill systems
laboratory and skid-mounted dosing units
Q&T recommend turbine meters only for filtered liquids, with adequate upstream straight pipe and periodic bearing inspection.
Compared with mag meters, turbine meters have moving parts and a small pressure drop; compared with vortex meters,
they offer higher accuracy but narrower fluid compatibility.
