How to reduce measurement errors of vortex flow meters?

Here are effective methods to reduce measurement errors of vortex flow meters:
  1. Correct installation Keep sufficient straight pipe sections upstream and downstream. Install away from elbows, valves and pumps. Avoid pipe vibration and inclined mounting. Ensure full pipe flow and no air entrapment.
  2. Medium & operating conditions Control flow velocity within the valid range and keep Reynolds number stable. Eliminate gas in liquids and liquid droplets in gas/steam. Maintain steady pressure and temperature.
  3. Pipeline improvement Use proper pipe diameter matching. Remove scale, dirt and deposits inside pipes regularly to prevent pipe bore reduction. Avoid sudden pipe expansion or contraction.
  4. Parameter setting & calibration Set correct medium density, temperature and pressure compensation parameters. Perform regular professional calibration. Adjust signal filter properly to suppress interference.
  5. Anti-interference measures Shield signal cables and separate them from power lines. Fix the meter firmly to cut down mechanical vibration interference.
  6. Regular maintenance Inspect sensor and probe periodically. Clean stuck impurities on vortex generator to guarantee stable vortex shedding.
