Installation direction of metal tube float flowmeter: Most float flowmeters must be installed vertically on a vibration-free pipeline, and there should be no obvious tilt, and the fluid flows through the meter from bottom to top. The angle between the center line of the float flowmeter and the plumb line is generally not more than 5 degrees, and the high-precision (above 1.5) meter θ≤20°. If θ=12°, 1% additional error will occur.
Metal tube float flowmeter is installation for dirty fluid: A filter should be installed upstream of the meter. When the metal tube float flowmeter with magnetic coupling is used for fluids that may contain magnetic impurities, a magnetic filter should be installed in front of the meter. Keep the float and cone clean, especially for small-caliber instruments. The cleanliness of the float obviously affects the measured value.
The installation of pulsating flow of metal tube float flowmeter: the pulsation of the flow itself, if there is a reciprocating pump or regulating valve upstream of the position where the meter is to be installed, or there is a large load change downstream, etc., the measurement position should be changed or remedial improvements should be made in the pipeline system, such as add buffer tank;If it is due to the oscillation of the instrument itself, such as the gas pressure is too low during measurement, the upstream valve of the instrument is not fully opened, and the regulating valve is not installed downstream of the instrument, etc., it should be improved and overcome, or an instrument with a damping device should be used instead.
When the metal tube float flowmeter is used in liquids, pay attention to whether there is any residual air in the casing. If the liquid contains small bubbles, it is easy to accumulate in the casing when flowing, and it should be exhausted regularly. This is more important for small-caliber instruments, otherwise it will affect the flow rate indication significantly.
