How to install an electromagnetic flowmeter correctly?
- Full-filled straight pipe: ≥5×DN upstream, ≥2×DN downstream; avoid elbows/valves/pumps nearby.
- Orientation: Vertical (upward flow) or horizontal (electrodes level) ✅; Electrodes up/down ❌ (air/sediment trap). Slurry: vertical install preferred.
- Grounding: Reliable earth (≤10Ω); add grounding rings for non-conductive pipes (PVC/PP).
- Avoid negative pressure, strong vibration & EMI (e.g. frequency converters).
- Fluid conductivity ≥5μS/cm; flange align well, tighten bolts evenly
